We recommend that the cured piece to be painted, be no more than 2 days old.\u003cbr\u003eClean All Surfaces That Will Contact FuseFX Paints - All surfaces to be painted, need to be free of any contaminants (especially mold release). If necessary, clean all surfaces with solvent (Toluene, Xylene, or Naphtha), and allow to dry before painting.\u003cbr\u003eFuseFX S-300 Series FISC Silicone Pigments Can be used in ALL silicone bases.\u003cbr\u003e______________________________________________________________________________________\u003cbr\u003eALWAYS SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE\u003cbr\u003eDue to the nature of how the silicone pigments are suspended for dispersion, it is strongly advise to SHAKE WELL before use.\u003cbr\u003eEven if the bottle has been sitting for a few minutes, it’s always best to shake well again before using.\u003cbr\u003eMix Ratio:\u003cbr\u003eA basic mixing ration of 3 drops of pigments per 10 grams by weight of civilized silicone.\u003cbr\u003eThis ration is for a 10 shore Platinum base silicone, ex: Smooth-On Dragon skin, Smooth-On 910, Renew 10, etc…\u003cbr\u003eYou may have to add less pigment for softer silicone such as Smooth-On’s Echo-Flex lines or silicones that have additives like Smooth-On’s Slacker, thinners, fluids or other additives. Adding too much pigment can alter the color, adding too little pigments will make your piece too translucent.\u003cbr\u003eALWAYS RUN A TEST SAMPLE FIRST.\u003cbr\u003eIt’s cheaper to ruin a 10 gram test sample that to ruin a 300 gram batch.\u003cbr\u003eDrops of pigment to silicone.\u003cbr\u003eThe ratio is 3 drops for every 10 grams of mixed (catalyzed) silicone.\u003cbr\u003eExample:\u003cbr\u003e- 3 drops for 10 grams of silicone\u003cbr\u003e- 6 drops for 20 grams of silicone\u003cbr\u003e- 30 drops for 100 grams or silicone\u003cbr\u003e- 60 drops for 200 grams of silicone\u003cbr\u003eSome ratios that may be of help…\u003cbr\u003eFor example:\u003cbr\u003eOne bottle of S-304 contains 30 grams or approx. 1,000 drops. So one bottle of S-304 pigment could tint approx. 3,300 grams of silicone, approx. 7.2 pounds or 116.4 oz. This is not precise but very close. Some pigments are heavier that others.\u003cbr\u003e0.55 grams = 20 drops\u003cbr\u003e0.83 grams = 30 drops\u003cbr\u003e1.1 grams = 40 drops\u003cbr\u003e1.6 grams = 60 drops\u003cbr\u003e2.2 grams = 80 drops\u003cbr\u003e2.7 grams = 100 drops\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSafety First\u003cbr\u003eThe Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this or any FuseFX product should be read prior to use and is available\u003cbr\u003eupon request from www.FuseFX.ca.
